Larry Dwyer

Biography

Larry Dwyer was born and raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut in the days of gas lines and Richard Nixon. Larry has always had two main loves: movies and music. His mother, a classically trained pianist, instilled a love of music in Larry at a very young age and of all of the music that she loved, he loved rock the best. Larry went on to learn to play guitar and later became a founding member of Grammy nominated hardcore/metal band Hatebreed. His love of movies also came from his parents. From a very early age, his parents would go to the drive-in movie theaters on the weekends with Larry in the backseat to watch such lovely films as 'Dawn of the Dead', 'Blood Beach' and 'Mother's Day'. This early introduction to horror films inspired Larry to later review films and interview filmmakers for Horror News Network and the annual Connecticut HorrorFest convention; this has also led to roles in films alongside Kevin Sorbo ('Hercules'), Adrienne King ('Friday the 13th'), Caroline Williams ('Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2') and more. When not in front of the camera, Larry can be found hosting genre film double features at Connecticut theaters, writing for Horror News Network website, helping to run the annual CT HorrorFest convention, podcasting with Scary Larry's House of Horrors, coaching Little League baseball, playing shows with bands, working 9-5 as a Project Manager and, most importantly, being a husband and father to his wonderful family.
