Biography

Juliette Mars began her vocal studies with Jacqueline Bonnardot. At the same time she completed her violoncello study in Quimper (Bretagne). After her vocal arts studies at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Lyon, the mezzo soprano became member of the CNIPAL (Centre National d’Insertion Professionelle d’artistes Lyriques) in Marseille. She made her stage debut in 2000 in St. Etienne as Gala in Massenet´s Roma. She is also an internationally successful lied and concert singer. In 2006 she made her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper as Giovanna in Rigoletto and has since then sung roles like Mercédès (Carmen), Meg Page (Falstaff), Rosette (Manon), Berkenfield (La Fille du régiment), Page (Salome), Zulma (Italiana in Algeri), Alisa (Lucia de Lamermoor), Suzuki, Siébel, Thibault (Don Carlos), Flora (Traviata), Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette), Smeton (Anna Bolena), Dangeville (Adriana Lecouvreur), Waklee (Fanciulla del West), Barena (Jen˚ufa), Zweite Dame, Dryade (Ariadne auf Naxos), Knappe, Blumenmädchen, Stimme von oben (Parsifal), 2.
